Subject:Phantom to haunt the city of churches
Posted by:x_marie_cris_x.
Time:9:44 pm.
Mood: ecstatic.
Don't tell me this community has died!

Anyway, for those who stumble here, last Thursday night it was announced that The Phantom of the Opera - which I'm happy to say I've seen 5 times now, three times in Melbourne and twice in Sydney - will ends its two-year' run in Adelaide at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Hi-tech Phantom to thrill Adelaide.

There's a link to a video in there too.

Needless to say, I'll incredibly happy about this.

So for all my fellow South Aussies out there, and for anyone else looking to swing by for the 3-week Adelaide season, I might see you at the LADS ((Last Adelaide Show))!

Subject:Guess who's doing The Mikado again?
Posted by:coconutty_tree.
Time:6:12 pm.
Mood: excited.
...Well, it'd be silly to post here if it wasn't Anthony, wouldn't it? Here's the official news from Opera Australia:

"Gilbert and Sullivan’s wacky romp comes to the Sydney Opera House in a muchloved production, originally designed by Tim Goodchild, and polished to a high sheen by Stuart Maunder. Following his extraordinary portrayal of the title role in The Phantom of the Opera, music theatre star Anthony Warlow is Ko-Ko. He is joined by a cast of favourites including Richard Alexander, Kanen Breen, Warwick Fyfe, Luke Gabbedy, Adele Johnston, Stephen Smith and, sharing the role of the delectable Yum-Yum, Taryn Fiebig and Lorina Gore. Get ready for a feast of mischief and great melodies from the all-singing, all-dancing talents of Australia’s national opera company."

The Mikado will be running from August 27-October 31, 2009 at the Sydney Opera House. Tickets go on sale November 29, 2008. Check out OA's webpage, which is being difficult and refusing to let me link to it, for more details.

Subject:Unexpected Song's 2nd Birthday Bash!
Posted by:x_marie_cris_x.
Time:3:07 pm.

Yes, it's that time of the year' again!

Can you believe it? 2 years' ago I constructed a little fan forum in the hopes I would find at least a small handful other fans of Anthony Warlow to talk to. Not only have I been successful in attracting fellow Ant fans - or Warlovians, as we are now termed ((thanks to member geldridge)) - but it seems we - or US - have also caught the eye of the man himself!

How many forums can say that dozens of random fans have told the person of the forum's focus about the forum, resulting in that person actually visiting the site?

This year', instead of partying for a fortnight, we shall be holding an open-forum - guests and members invited - all through April ((from April 1st to May 1st, actually)); so, for a month, we are celebrating ... well ... 2 years' of celebrating the life of Anthony Warlow. Of course afterwards US shall return to Member's Only, mainly for security reasons ((we must keep the porn-bots at bay, after all! En guarde! *swish*)), so if you visit us during the 2nd Birthday Bash and decide you would like to stay for longer, feel free to register!

Click the link above to reach the official Birthday Bash thread ((forgive the slight page stretch; it's the codes)). Remember to play nice, have fun, and if you haven't already, please sign the Phantom of the Opera Australian Cast Performance and / or Filmed Stage Performance Petition!

there's a Phantom video on the Stage Noise website you might be interested in. (that is very much a "might" and not some kind of leading statement -- I haven't watched it)

I know things have been a bit slow in this community lately; I suppose everyone's too busy catching planes or hitch-hiking on their way to see Phantom ((I'm glad to announce that since I last posted here it's been declared that I WILL IN FACT see Phantom ... TWICE!! First on November 20th with a friend and her folks, then on the 8th of Jan with my mother and sister, so if anyone is there on those two nights, keep an eye out for the people in the stalls; I'll be in the mix [I warned you. Don't say I didn't warn you.]])).

Now then ...

With the great mass of new Phans, old Phans, new and old Warlovians, and musical theatre buffs, I'm hoping there will be enough to notice my little ... notice. As of yesterday an unofficial petition was drawn up on Unexpected Song: Celebrating the Life of Anthony Warlow, and so far we have 28 signatures. Hopefully 29 once I ask my mother. XD ANYWAY, the petition is this: Phantom of the Opera Australian Cast Recording and / or Filmed Stage Performance.

Do I have contacts in high places? No. HOWEVER, I do have hope, and when there's hope there's ambition, drive and determination. You never know, if we get enough support we might end up finding some people in the right places, and we may end up making a difference. Wouldn't you like to be a part of that?

Signing is very simple: Just go to the petition thread in Unexpected Song using the linked banner below and post. If you don't want to register ((guest posting has been disabled due to a sudden wave of porn bots)), THAT'S OKAY!! You can show your support by commenting here, or on my MySpace, LastFM or GaiaOnline profile ((yes, I have one)). As far as LJ is concerned you don't have to be a member to comment here, unless this community has altered the commenting abilities of the public ...

In which case, just e-mail me. My LJ profile hold the answers.

I've rambled enough; PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT ((and spread the word if possible))!!

Time:12:22 am.
Okay, this is completely off-topic, so delete if necessary, but I'm getting desperate so I thought I'd give it a try: I have an audition next week for which I want to sing a Missy Higgins song. However, I'm back in the US, don't have the sheet music, and can't find it anywhere except having it mailed from Australia, which would take too long or cost like a trillion dollars for expedited shipping. Is there anyone out there who has any Missy Higgins sheet music they might be willing to scan and email to me? I would be eternally grateful!

C'mon, it's coming: Let's talk.

True: Phantom has been declared a National Tour.
False: Phantom will be coming to Adelaide.

Yes, I'm peeved. No one wants to back it here. Travel costs, hotel costs, ticket costs? I'm broke as it is.

Anyway, as I'm most likely going to miss out on THE BIGGEST EVENT OF A LIFETIME, I want to hear some talk from others about it. Nervous? Excited? Who's going? Who'll miss out? Gonna try for an autograph? ((hey, who wouldn't?)) Pictures? Expectations from him and Ana and the rest of the cast? I've heard Ana and I admit she'd make a wonderful Christine ((cross her off as one of the lucky ones who gets to kiss him ... *sigh*)).

Let's talk.

I guess some of you may have seen it, but I've uploaded the old documentary to youtube for more people. It's called Without A Song, made right after his recovery from lymphoma, that is, in 1993 I believe.  Though the video is aged, I was so moved while watching it

Well, enough said. Here you go:

I understand this may be a long-shot, but I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about when tickets go on sale for Phantom of the Opera? I've seen advertizements for tour groups that are doing trips to Melbourne for it, but nothing on the official site or ticketek. I'm trying to plan a trip to melbourne myself to see it, I understand its still early, but thought maybe someone knew anything more than me.

Thanks if you can help.

I'm probably not the only one who's noticed that this community doesn't have icons. I do a lot of graphics ((not that they're good)) so I decided to whip up a few for this community

Well, I said a few.

I feel like a bit of a git, but I just HAVE to ask ...

Does ANYONE have a copy of Jekyll and Hyde that I can download? When my teacher leant her Highlights copy to me sevreal years ago I burnt that off but now the tracks are skipping. I'm hoping if someone could upload the complete (2-disc?) version with Anthony Warlow, just until I have enough money again to track it down on the net ((I know where)) and get it for myself. But if anyone - PLEASE - could just upload it for my temporary use? I haven't listened to Jekyll and Hyde in a year' and it's killing me. In exchange I can give ... uhh ... Tenor and Baritone, On the Boards, Highlights from the Main Event ((with bonus tracks)), Face the Music, Centre Stage, The Best of Act One and/or Back in the Swing. I know a lot of people have these but it's all I've got, save for a few odd clippits of Anthony singing Phantom of the Opera and stuff like that ... ((provided by Windbelle, thank you!!)). Or if you want me to make an icon or somrthing for you ((well what else can I offer?)) I can do so, just show me the base picture.

Please please please please please please PLEASE please please please please somebody help me!

For those of you who saw the gala, what did you think of it? Praise they had Richard Alexander! I was rather hoping Warlow would sing something but after reading "The Opera Gala with Anthony Warlow" in the TV guide I knew it wouldn't get to that. Still, he did recite the lines of Puk I know so well ((as I played the part in excerpts of Shakespeare in high school)). Didn't Emma Matthews do a good job huh?

Subject:Anthony Warlow Mood Theme
Posted by:x_marie_cris_x.
Time:6:54 pm.
Mood: pleased.
I've been working on it for a while and when denbigh posted her David Hobson mood theme I got stuck into it again. What I'd really like is to have a complete Anthony Warlow layout, but I'm not very good at graphics and html and all that jazz. Anyway if you wanna see it go here. I hope it's all right

EDIT: Go here to download the pictures. If anyone knows of an easier way of installing them than going through the whole "create mood theme" deal please share ((like if there's an html code you can put in your profile to install them or something)). Credit and enjoy!

EDIT (AGAIN): As I can't be stuffed logging into my other account to edit my Warlow icons post I'll just post the five new ones here

1 2 3 4 5

2: "voccai"
"not just any voice"
3: "feed me!"
4: "Captain of the Pinafore"

Once again, credit and enjoy!
